Unique Ideas for Senior Portraits

I was excited to have my senior portraits done. After all, these would pictures my mother would hang in her home for years to come and these pictures would help commemorate a huge accomplishment in my life. However, after meeting with a few photographers, my excitement faded. Many of the photographers offered up pictures and poses that have been repeated by other seniors over the past decade. I wanted something unique, and I was having a hard time finding it. After a lot of research, I finally came up with unique ideas for senior portraits. I started this website to share my unique ideas, hoping to help other high school seniors who want their pictures to be a reflection of their individuality and uniqueness.

Preparing Your Kitchen For Moving Day

You're smart. You hired a professional moving company, such as Bekins Van Lines Inc, to pack up your home and move you to your new destination. While the brunt of the work falls on the shoulders of the moving company, this doesn't exactly mean you get to sit back and sip on lemonade. This is particularly true when it comes to your kitchen. Your effort involves preparing your kitchen for the movers. This won't just make the packing process more efficient, but it will also save you time when you're setting up your new kitchen.

Sort your Food

The first part of this process is sorting out what you don't want. Depending on how long you've lived in your home, you've probably accumulated a lot of stuff. A few weeks before your move, start pulling out everything inside your cabinets and pantry to see what you have. Make piles for the things you will take with you and those things you either want to sell or giveaway.

When sorting food, it's important to remember that most moving companies won't take wet food items that have already been opened, such as jelly or salad dressing. If you want to take these items, you will need to create a self-carry pile of things you will move on your own.  Once you start setting up your new kitchen space everything will be more organized.

Go Over Layout

Preparing for your move also involves you going over the layout of your new kitchen space. This step is especially helpful if you will be moving your appliances to your new home. Make sure your exiting appliances will actually fit in your new kitchen. For example, dishwashers can vary in terms of height and width. If the space for your new dishwasher is too small for your current unit, you will need to replace it.

Most moving companies charge by weight. Moving a dishwasher to your new home that you can't use will only cost you more in moving costs. In this case, it's best to sell the unit before you move and use your profits towards the purchase of a new one. Make sure you are getting the measurements for all your appliances so that you don't have the moving company move appliances you can't actually use.

Make sure you are taking the time to prepare your kitchen for your move. The more prepared you are the easier it is for the movers to pack up your home and get you relaxed and comfortable in your new one.
